Caps Continue Hot-Streak With 10th Straight Win

The Washington Capitals continue to be red hot in the month of January as they beat the Tampa Bay Lightning Sunday afternoon at the Verizon Center to extend their streak to 10 straight. This win ties the franchise record set back in 1984. The Caps have been red hot since naming Alex Ovechkin the captain of the team after trading former captain Chris Clark to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Ovechkin scored the game winning goal with 6:26 left in the 3rd period. The Caps next face Boston on Tuesday night with a chance to break the franchise record if they can score their 11th straight win.
